Fall River Electric’s annual meeting of members is a community gathering where neighbors can meet new neighbors or catch up with old acquaintances. Our lives are busier than ever and more of our “connections” are made on social media. This year’s annual meeting is a time to interact with each other with face-to face human connection. It is also a time to learn more about the electric utility YOU own. While folks in rural America seem to do a better job of connecting with our neighbors, very few organizations are uniquely positioned like Fall River Electric to bring together all members of the local communities they serve.
This year, Fall River Electric celebrates its 80th anniversary…80 years ago your Cooperative was created by a small group of rural families that desired the convenience that electricity could bring to their homes and their farms. Just as in 1938, you have the opportunity this year to elect board members to represent you in planning for the future of Fall River Electric. There will also be By-Law changes to vote on, presenters to let you know the direction of the electric industry, a review of the excellent financial condition your Coop is in, and a wealth of helpful information on health, energy, and the community at the Co-op’s expo.
Perhaps even more exciting are the FREE prizes to be given away to dozens of members who attend, including a FREE commemorative 80th anniversary cast iron skillet to the first five hundred members who attend. Enjoy a FREE breakfast of hotcakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and your favorite beverage; games and bucket truck rides for the kids; and even more prizes at the business meeting where one lucky owner-member will receive a $1000 energy credit certificate.
If you have never attended Fall River Electric’s annual meeting, we urge you to take the morning of June 16, 2018, to join your neighbors and fellow co-op owners. Even better, bring your neighbors along. Breakfast starts at 8am, the expo opens at 7:30am, and the business meeting at 10am, at Teton High School in Driggs, ID. Fall River Electric’s staff, management, and board look forward to seeing you at YOUR annual meeting June 16.
