School Solar & Wind Projects Funded

Fall River Electric owner-members in conjunction with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a nonprofit organization funded by generous contributions from philanthropic organizations, Helping Hands, a local nonprofit and Fall River Electric; the fundraising necessary to construct small scale distributed generation solar panels and wind turbines at three of our local high schools was achieved. Construction bids were awarded to Bozeman Green Build of Bozeman, Montana and construction, weather permitting, will get underway at Teton High School in Driggs, North Fremont High School in Ashton and at West Yellowstone High School this fall.

These distributed generation units coupled with real-time display units at each high school, classroom materials and teacher training will provide local students an understanding and knowledge of these emerging technologies. Thank you to those visionary owner-members who contributed to this effort.
