Agriculture Rebates

You are here

  1. My Energy Savings
  2. Agriculture Rebates

The Fall River Electric irrigation program has been established to encourage the use of energy-efficient equipment and is an opportunity for irrigation users to receive a financial rebate to cover a portion of the cost to install a new or more efficient system, or to make improvements to an existing system.

Fall River Electric is now offering more new ways to provide you with rebate dollars to help you save energy in agricultural.

New Pump Upgrade

When replacing an existing centrifugal or turbine style pump for the purposes of distributing or transporting irrigation water for pumps ranging from 20 to 500 HP, Fall River Electric will help pay for the replacement of the existing centrifugal, turbine, or submersible turbine pump with a new (not a used or rebuilt) centrifugal or turbine style pump. The new replacement pump must have the same or lower horsepower rating unless it is coupled with a VFD.

Payment is $40.00 per nameplate horsepower.

For a new pump rebate, please use this form: Ag Pump Upgrade

Variable Frequency Drives - Addition of adding VFD to existing pump

This measure requires the addition of VFD to an existing, fixed speed, turbine, or centrifugal style pump. This measure applies to pumping operations that deliver, distribute or transport irrigation water with qualifying VFD's from 20 to 500 horsepower electric motors. Both Turbine and Centrifugal pumps are eligible with the following conditions: Turbine pumps are eligible with substantial variation in flow rates (20% variation or more) or discharge pressure requirements (10% variation or more). Centrifugal pumps are eligible with substantial variation in discharge pressure requirements (20% variation or more). All VFD installations are required to meet the IEEE 519 harmonics standard.

Payment is $35 per nameplate horsepower for the Centrifugal pump.

Payment is $60 per nameplate horsepower for Turbine pump.

VFD Ag Adding to Existing System Application.

Variable Frequency Drives - New Construction

This measure requires the addition of a VFD to a new turbine or centrifugal irrigation pump. This VFD rebate applies to new construction pumping plants that deliver, distribute or transport irrigation water with qualifying VFD's from 20 to 500 horsepower electric motors. Both Turbine and Centrifugal pumps are eligible with the following conditions. Turbine pumps are eligible with substantial variation in flow rates (20% variation or more) or discharge pressure requirements (10% variation or more). Centrifugal pumps are eligible with substantial variation in discharge pressure requirements (20% variation or more). All VFD installations are required to meet the IEEE 519 harmonics standard.

New Turbine Pump VFD payment is $60 per nameplate horsepower

New Centrifugal Pump VFD payment is $35 per nameplate horsepower

Irrigation System Conversions and Maintenance

FRE will help pay for converting a complete or partial center-pivot or lateral-move system with existing high-pressure sprinklers to:

  • Mid-Elevation Sprinkler Application (MESA)

  • Low Elevation Spray Application (LESA)

  • Low Energy Precision Application (LEPA)

  • Mobile Drip Irrigation (MDI)

Payment on system conversion can be as high as $10.00 per drop & for system maintenance. Contact FRE Conservation Specialist for more information conservation@fallriverelectric.com or call 800.632.5726 M-F from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All incentives are subject to availability. These programs may change at any time. FRE reserves the right to inspect for program compliance.

Hardware & Conversion Application

Variable Frequency Drives for Fans in Potato Storage

This measure is for ventilation fan VFD installation in potato storage facilities. All new VFD installations are required to meet the IEEE 519 harmonics standards.

Payment is $150 per rated horsepower of the pump motor - VFD for Fans in Potato Storage Application

Freeze Resistant Stock Water Tanks/Fountains

Freeze Resistant Stock Water Tanks/Fountains are super-insulated livestock watering tanks that do not require freeze protection. To be eligible, a Freeze Resistant Stock Water Tank/Fountain must replace an existing electrically heated stock water tank.

Payment is $150 per tank/fountain.

For rebate, please use this form: Freeze Resistant Stock Water Tanks/Fountains application

Irrigation Custom Project

Some projects are more complex and require additional steps to determine energy savings and eligibility. These custom projects may require engineering review and energy consumption monitoring for verification of savings. Fall River will review any proposed energy efficiency project for verifiable energy savings potential, and will work with the owners to evaluate and verify energy savings. Rebates are calculated on a per kWh basis of the energy savings of the installed measures. Fall River Electric projects are capped at 50 percent of the project cost for qualifying measures.

Agricultural Custom Project Application

Other agricultural rebates are available for window replacement and insulation. See the tab titled COMMERCIAL EFFICIENCY REBATES for more information on those rebates.
